Ruger® SR9c™ Compact Centerfire Pistols - http://www.ruger.com/products/sr9c/index.html

"The SR9c compact pistol weighs in at 23.40 oz. and features an overall length of 6.85", a height of 4.61", and the same slim 1.27" grip width (across safety levers) as the full-sized SR9. It comes with two magazines that provide options in both capacity and grip size. The standard magazine holds 10 rounds and features a flat bottom butt plate; a finger grip extension floor plate is also included. The second magazine features a grip adapter and holds 17 rounds, instantly transforming the smaller, compact grip into a full-sized 9mm grip. The 3.50" barreled pistol features an integral accessory rail that accommodates most lights and lasers.

The SR9c compact pistol utilizes the same adjustable, high-visibility 3-Dot sight system as its full-sized predecessor, setting it apart from many compact pistols that rely on fixed sights. New serrations are located on the front portion of the slide, making it easier to both manipulate the slide and to press check the chamber. The SR9c is available with a glass-filled nylon frame and through-hardened slide in either a brushed stainless or black nitrite finish. State compliant variations are available where necessary and ship with two 10-round magazines.

Just like the original, full-sized SR9, the SR9c is loaded with modern safety features like a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, internal trigger bar interlock and striker blocker, trigger safety, magazine disconnect, plus a visual and tactile loaded chamber indicator."

Concealed Carry

Ruger SR9c 9mm Review for Concealed Carry | Concealed Nation - http://www.concealednation.org/2013/07/ruger-sr9c-9mm-review-for-concealed-carry/

  • Size - The SR9c is a stricker-fired, compact, double-stack design. The grip is only 1.18″ thick, making it one of the thinnest double-stack handguns available.

Overall length is 6.85″ (barrel is 3.5″), width (across safety levers) is 1.27″, height is 4.61″ It weighs just 23.4 oz.

  • Safeties - There are numerous safeties on this handgun – one of the many reasons I love it.

It has a Glock-like “trigger within the trigger”, internal trigger bar interlock and striker blocker, magazine disconnect (more on this later), plus a visual and tactile loaded chamber indicator on the top of the slide.

  • Magazines - It comes with two magazines. One is a flush-fitting 10-round magazine (with interchangable baseplates – one flush and one with a “pinky” extender) and the other is a 17-round full-size SR9 magazine with a sleeve to cover the extra length. This makes the grip the same as that on a regular (full-size) SR9. In juridictions where law-abiding citizens are restricted to 10 rounds, the firearm will ship with two 10-round mags. I prefer the pinky extender on the 10-round mag, and carry the 17-round mag for backup.

Reviews

Gun Review: Ruger SR9c | The Truth About Guns - http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/09/robert-farago/gun-review-ruger-sr9c/

"The Ruger SR9c is a deeply sexy handgun. Our two-tone tester’s perfect proportions, sleek striations and over-sized alphanumerics say Bond, James Bond, in a way that even the Walther PPK can’t match. In fact, the rugged yet suave Ruger shares many of the Bond gun’s best bits. It fires the most popular cartridge of its day (9mm), the thin frame and diminutive dimensions conceal easily and the gun oozes elegance. Did I mention that the SR9c is a good-looking gat? If it had any more sex appeal I’d have to buy a separate gun safe to keep the Austrians at bay. If you know what I mean . . ."

"After firing well over 1000 rounds through the SR9c, I can state unequivocally that the little Ruger is the best semi-automatic the company has ever made. Some of you might indelicately suggest that’s not saying much. Try this instead: the Ruger SR9c’s as fine shooting as an equivalent Glock, Springfield, Smith & Wesson or any other mainstream pistol you can name. Maybe better, thanks to the SR9c’s aforementioned dimensions (less than an inch thick, excluding the safety) and the recoil-reducing dual spring plunger system. And a fantastic trigger."

Ruger® Introduces the SR9c™ Compact Pistol Press Release - http://www.ruger.com/news/2010-01-03.html

"Ruger® Introduces the SR9c™ Compact Pistol

January 03, 2010

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) is proud to announce the Ruger® SR9c compact pistol, the first extension in the SR9 striker-fired pistol family. The SR9 is one of the slimmest and most ergonomic 9mm pistols on the market today, and the compact model offers an even smaller, more concealable option, ideal for discreet carry.

"The SR9c compact pistol is a welcome addition to the SR9 line, giving customers a very comfortable carry option in this reliable, 9mm platform," said Mike Fifer, President & CEO. "Incorporating the best features the full-sized SR9 has to offer, the SR9c gives Ruger a strong entry into the compact 9mm field. It feels great in your hand and it's a lot of fun to shoot."

The SR9c compact pistol weighs in at 23.40 oz. and features an overall length of 6.85", a height of 4.61", and the same slim 1.27" grip width (across safety levers) as the full-sized SR9.
