Graphical Partitioning

gparted

sudo apt-get install gparted

Allows one to resize and move partitions, even windows and boot partitions!

Remote Desktop

remmina

sudo apt-get install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp

Clipboard sync works! And so does full screen on multi monitor systems.

For full screen: [Right Ctrl] + F

rdesktop is crap. Krdc is better. Remmina is best.

Preferences: "Invisible Toolbar in fullscreen"

Keyboard Shortcut to Lock Screen

Default shortcut:

Ctrl + Alt + L

If you want to change the default:

NFS

sudo apt-get install nfs-common

Usage:

sudo mount nfs-server:/path/ /local_path/

Pidgin

System tray (so doesn't kill when you close window)

Preferences -> Interface -> System Tray Icon -> Show system tray icon: Always
